Junior Riparian Professional (JRP), Mekong Integrated Water Resources Management Project of Mekong River Commission (MRC)

Integrated Water Resources Management training for JRP, January 14-25, 2013

Based on the concept and philosophy of IWRM, my mindset and the way of my thinking have been shaped to be dynamic and systematic thoughtby applying interdisciplinary and holistic approach. During the discussion, my idea, comments and concerns are always inclusive of interdisciplinary holistic and practical thought that is why I am able to convince my team as well as senior staff and international consultants. Also, this kind of thought, I don’t just apply at my working place, but I have applied it to my daily life and my life has been shaped nicely to realize my dream. This kind of thought helps to avoid any adverse effects, it is practical and it can solve the complex issue successfully for a long-term perspective.

All these knowledge, skills, teamwork, time management, good morality and mindset are very precious things that have shaped my professional career and life to be more active, professional and responsible; and it contributes to make better changes and toward sustainability and harmonious human-nature societies.

As I was knowledgeable from the training course in MI, I am proud of myself to be able to challenge among the professionals from different departments in Cambodia. With this experience, I am very confident to work and use to apply with my current organization for any official purposes. Also, I have used this experience to contribute to improve the quality of working performance, and with my present position, I was considered as a potential individual and grouped into the management team of my organization. And I feel proud of my work and life, and I am ambitious to update myself to be more professional on Project Management.

The experience and lesson learnt from MI is strongly contributed to bring me to be confident, optimistic and brilliant for the time being and in the future time. The extreme positive impacts have been recorded as of my outstanding assignment on a pilot project of “Integrated Rural Development for Households Project” resulted.

 Trade Event Promotion, August 22-26,2011

As Human Resource Manager of Business Sector, I worried that how I can establish and sharing my MI experience at my work. But fortunately I got one opportunity to participate in First Myanmar Job Fair 2012. One expert is calling it a "Buyers Market" which is good news for employers and employees.

At that job fair, I used website of MI sharing me for trade fair. I can learn how they organized this buyers market. I can be selected the booth near entrance for my business teams. I also used the calculation method of “Cost Of the Event / Number of Business Card (Number of Applicants) = Cost Per Applicant”. I got it from MI experience and then
I changed it number of applicants instead of number of business card.

Thanks MI for giving me effective outcomes.

Mekong Institute, though a regional body, has played great role in shaping the future of poverty eradication in Nigeria through its well articulated management courses.

I have attended many courses in Ghana, London and in Nigeria but nothing compares with the style and professional teaching methods of MEKONG INSTITUTE and the friendly nature of staff and well organised set up.

Trade and Investment Opportunities Along GMS NSEC, Oct 13-24, 2008

Without MI, without the opportunities of joining in those high quality workshops, there would be no way for me to discover this increasingly meaningful manner of involvement and the accompanying lifestyle.

One thousand five hundred words just cannot suffice for me to express my rich experiences in the colorful GMS. However, one last sentence must not be forgotten: Thank you, Mekong Institute; without you, my career would be different!

Safety and Regulations Programme Officer of NAP, MRC

Integrated Water Resources Management for Junior Riparian Professionals, January 14 25, 2013

On behalf of Cambodian, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Thai, and Vietnam participants and on behalf of myself, we would like to say thank you to Dr. Suchat Katima, Director of Mekong Institute very much for teaching us on Integrated Water Resource Management training course at the Mekong River Commission Secretariat Office in Phnom Penh in the week 1, January 14-18, 2013 for Junior Riparian Professional Batch 8. We are very happy to listen your valuable presentation, explaination and interesting ideas that you gave us during the course. You are a very good and experience lecturer.

This training course is very valuable for us because we could gain not only theories, but also the real daily situation that we are working in our national institutions and societies. During the course, Dr. Suchat tried to find exercises, case study including video and let us to explore your own ideas by doing country and mixed groups presentation which relating to the topic of your daily presentation on IWRM course and he always added more technical words when the group did not say. During the five days on IWRM course, we have done many presentations in the group but the most attracting for me is the first and the second presentation on The case study of Num Dam because this presentation could give me to think more if we are in the role of government, famers or NGO and how to identify, categorize and plan strategy of each stakeholders who are involve in the project. From module 1 to module 5 and handouts, I like them all but in module 4 The management tools on IWRM planning is the less interesting for me.

Besides, Ms. Jutamas Thongcharoeun, Associate Programme Manager is also the best assistant during the IWRM course. She often assisted Dr. Suchat by arranging the class, gave instruction to the participants at the beginning and during of the course, stuck important definition and daily schedule on the wall, took photos and uploaded all subjects to Mekong Institute website. She was very friendly and best assistant.

Moreover, all participants are very friendly and happy all the times because they can explore differently games in order to make a class with the most energizers during the afternoon time. They often take care from one to another when someone got sick. Say the true when Nong felt bad, she got many advices and medicines from her colleagues. Furthermore, they often help the class when his/her did not so clear in any subjects. We are very closed friend.

I would like to thank Ms. Ton Nu Thi Thanh Yen, Programme Coordinator, Navigation Programme of Mekong River Commission who assigned me to participate in the Integrated Water Resource Management.

I would like also to thank to Programme Coordinator of Integrated Capacity Building Programme of the MRC and Mekong Institute to organize the IWRM training course at MRC.

I personally think that the IWRM course is very interesting and very fruitful for me even though I came from Navigation Programme. To be a staff of MRC we are not only know in our own field but also in many different subjects which relating to MRC training programme.
