MI opens applications to postharvest training in fresh produce

Mekong Institute, with the support of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, is organizing the Regional Training Program on Postharvest Management System in Fresh Horticultural Produce from November 12–23 at the MI Residential Training Center in Khon Kaen, Thailand.

The two-week course seeks to introduce innovative postharvest handling technologies and highlight how effective postharvest management contribute in improved product quality and reduced losses. The program will feature lectures, group discussions, and field visits to farms and markets in northeastern Thailand.

WHO CAN APPLY?

The training is designed for government officials, university faculty members and researchers, as well as private sector representatives who are involved in promoting effective postharvest systems in fresh horticultural value chains. The course will be delivered in English and will be facilitated by experts from the region.

Full training scholarships are available to a total of 21 participants from Cambodia, P.R. China (Guangxi and Yunnan), Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
