The Impact of Climate Change on Environment and Resource Management in Agricultural Sector

Mekong Institute (MI), in collaboration with the Monitoring Office of Program 165 (Vietnam), organized a two-week training program on “The Impact of Climate Change on Environment and Natural Resource Management in Agricultural Sector”  on August 9-19, 2016 at MI.

The program was designed to enhance knowledge and skill sets of participants with respect to good practices of climate mitigation and adaption measures focusing on environment and resource management in the agricultural sector. The structured learning visits (SLV) were integrated into the training course to expose participants to the projects in communities in the Kalasin, Roi Et and Chaiyaphum provinces of Thailand which are adopting innovative climate adaptation and mitigation measures. The participants reflected on lessons learned and the applicability of their learning experiences from Thailand through constructive engagement with the various discussion sessions during the course of the training.

Eighteen government officials working with Agriculture, Rural Development and Climate issues from Vietnam attended the training program.
