Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University Visits Mekong Institute

Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University is currently conducting a program for the students in Master of Arts in Social Sciences (Development Studies) Program. Their visit to Mekong Institution (MI) on September 10, 2014 was a part of their study trip which to gain an overview of GMS and ASEAN and collaborate with the international institutes.
In response to these students' academic curiosity, MI warmly welcomed the delegates, led by Lect. Ekamol Saichan, in the afternoon of September 10, 2014. The visitors, comprised of 1 lecturer, 1 academic support officer and 13 Lao, Myanmar, Thai and Vietnamese students. MI representatives provided the students with insights about MI as the intergovernmental organization and its role in human resource development for the GMS, and in the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), and the links between the GMS and ASEAN. The students expressed their interests in MI New Zealand Ambassador Scholarship (MINZAS) and Young GMS Professional Programs (YGMS). The visit concluded with a tour of MI's facilities and observation of the MINZAS Round Table Meeting.
