MI Shared Its Expertise on SME at GDIs Conference, Cambodia

This year Mekong Institute (MI) has been invited to participate in Cambodia Ministries of Industry, Mines, and Energys annual conference hosted by General Department of Industries (GDI) on December 13-16 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The topic of the conference involves structural transformation on the SME Clusters in Cambodia. It has been organized with the aim at bringing forth competitiveness of the SME sectors in its region; and as one of the key partners of GDI, MI has been invited to share its expertise on SME at this eventful meeting. With this regard, MIs Program Manager of Trade & Investment Facilitation, Mr.Madhurjya Kumar Dutta, and MIs SME Development Specialist, Dr. Nittana Southiseng, went to join the conferences fruitful discussions and presentations.

Among the matters discussed, the issues on Initiative on SMEs Clustering and Regional Context and Key Steps toward Building Capacity to Access to Finance for SME were presented by both of the MIs specialists.

Aside from MI, other partners also took part in the contribution of the Cambodias SME development by sending their representatives to join the session; these include, JICA, Industry Property Department, ILCC, and DAI/USAID.
