Effective Project Management for Sustainable Development in the Greater Mekong Sub-region

Mekong Institute has launched the learning program on Effective Project Management for Sustainable Development in the Greater Mekong Sub-region" to develop capacity of the middle-level officials from the six GMS countries to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate national, subregional and transboundary development projects that address issues relevant to the GMS.
Dr. Suchat Katima, Director of Mekong Institute, welcomed the participants to the course. In his opening speech, Dr. Katima noted that the training aims for the participants to acquire knowledge and practical experience on the application of Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework in accordance with international project management standards.
He further stated that the course is expected to promote cooperation and trust among professional in the GMS countries, and enhance their skills in cross-cultural communication, information management and networking ability as they interact and learn together.The program is sponsored by New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID) and Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA). This course with twenty four participants from six GMS countries is organized at MI residential training center from 17 Aug to 4 Sept 2009.
