Regional Training Program on Food Hygiene and Sanitation for Food Handlers

Mekong Institute, with support from the New Zealand Aid Programme, will hold an online regional training program on “Food Hygiene and Sanitation for Food Handlers” from October 25 to 29, 2021.

TRAINING BACKGROUND

The training program was designed to enhance the understanding and skills of government officials and food service sector representatives in identifying various types of food safety hazards and control measures for higher compliance of food hygiene regulations.

The five-day sessions will also expose training participants to food control practices of Thailand restaurants in a pandemic climate, as well as provide them a platform to network and exchange best practices to mobilize the institutionalization of a food safety culture in their respective countries after the training.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

The training program is open to Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam nationals, who are

  1. Senior- to mid-level government officials, particularly those from the Food and Drug Department or agencies under the Ministry of Health
  2. Food safety experts and business operators
